Maintenance in the Tri-Cities

The AT Advantage Program keeps every visit on the calendar

A furnace or air conditioner rarely fails without warning. It gets dirty, a part weakens, and the first hard cold snap or hundred degree week finds it. The AT Advantage Program puts two visits a year on the schedule so a technician finds those things first. Air-Tech offers four plans, from Good to Fantastic, and every one of them includes the inspection.

What a visit is for

A tune-up is an inspection first and a cleaning second

The point of a maintenance visit is to read the system while it is still running. A technician measures what the equipment is doing, compares it with what it should be doing, and writes down the gap. Two visits a year lets one land before heating season and one before cooling season, so each half of the system is checked before you lean on it.

If something is worn, you hear about it in a calm week instead of at two in the morning. Read more about furnace service or air conditioning service.

The heating visit

  • Ignition and flame quality, and how the burners light and hold.
  • The heat exchanger, looked at for cracks and rust that a filter change never reveals.
  • Flue and venting, so exhaust leaves the house the way it should.
  • Blower motor and wheel, which collect dust and quietly lose airflow.
  • Thermostat calls and the safety switches that shut a furnace down when something is wrong.

The cooling visit

  • Indoor and outdoor coils, the two places dirt turns into lost capacity.
  • Refrigerant pressures and the temperature drop across the coil.
  • Capacitors and contactors, the small electrical parts that fail first in a hot week.
  • The condensate drain, so a clogged line does not become a wet ceiling.
  • Airflow at the registers, compared with what the system was built to move.

What the rows mean

Priority scheduling
This is how quickly a member is scheduled for a service call. Fantastic members are scheduled the same day, Best within 24 hours, Better within 36 hours and Good within 72 hours.
After hours diagnostic fee
Air-Tech runs 24-hour emergency service. On Fantastic and Best the diagnostic fee for an after hours call is waived. On Better and Good it is $125.
Member savings
Savings on repair run 15% on Fantastic, 10% on Best and 5% on Better, and Good has none. Savings on a new system are 2% capped at 6% on Fantastic and 1% capped at 5% on Best. Better and Good have none. If you are weighing a replacement, the financing page covers the other side of that decision.
Limited repair warranty
Fantastic carries a 2 year limited repair warranty. Best, Better and Good carry 1 year. Ask the office what a limited warranty does and does not cover before you choose.
